Biogenic carbon is gaining increasing attention as a pathway to reduce emissions in energy-intensive industries. One sector where this discussion is particularly dynamic is metallurgy.
We are therefore pleased that the Biocarbon in Metallurgy 2026 conference will take place 21-23 April in Krakow, Poland, bringing together researchers, policymakers and industry stakeholders working across the biomass and metallurgical value chains.
Now in its fourth edition, the event focuses on the availability, production, quality and industrial use of renewable biogenic feedstocks such as biochar, biocarbon and charcoal as low-emission reductants in metal production. The conference offers a valuable platform to exchange insights on technology developments, market expectations and the evolving regulatory landscape.
IBTC is will contribute to the programme: our Vice President Tom Sieverts will be speaking at the conference, sharing perspectives from the Circular Biocarbon sector and the role of thermally upgraded biomass in industrial decarbonisation.
We look forward to engaging discussions and meeting colleagues, partners and new stakeholders from across the sector in Krakow.
